La primera parte se compone de un texto del reverendo Jean-Baptiste Saint-Jure (1588-1657), extraído, casi textualmente, de su gran obra "Del conocimiento y del amor del Hijo de Dios, nuestro Señor Jesucristo", que hizo las delicias y fue como el manual de ascética del santo Cura de Ars. Una obra de corte netamente ignaciano que nos ayuda a mejorar el conocimiento de la maravillosa acción del amor de Dios sobre todas sus criaturas.
